Most of my wife Meghan's family were born and raised in New Orleans. Her grandmother actually founded a Mardi Gras parade 40 years ago. It's an all female Krewe named "Cleopatra". Meghan and her sister rode in it this year. You'll notice in the pictures that Meghan is wearing a costume.

They had a blast as the rest of the family waited in along the parade route for them to come by and a lot of pictures are from waiting for them to pass. Also, I don't really know how, but I completely screwed up getting a decent picture of Meg and her sister on the float.

Other pics you'll see include shopping for beads to throw. Each of the bags you see cost anywhere from $20-$50, which is insane. The cool part about the floats and throwing stuff is it's not just beads. People throw ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. Stuffed animals, footballs, cups, etc. It's really cool.

You'll also see a few pics of a house. That is the house in my in-law's neighborhood that is allegedly being rented out by Beyonce for super bowl week. One of the pics is all blury because I'm walking away quickly because a tinted out passenger van pulled up and they all were staring at me.
