I overheard a studio conversation between Jessica and Lenzi, our interns. Jessica was complaining about how bad parking at the University of Arkansas can be. Lenzi told a story about how she was ticketed for parking in a handicap space at her school in Tallequah, OK.
Lenzi, who is one of the sweetest girls ever, seemed to not realize how bad parking in a handicap spot, when you're not disabled, can be. She said it was late and there were no other spots.
We asked for people who NEED those spots to call the show and tell us why it was so important to never park in them. We recieved some GREAT calls.
A veteran named Pat from Bentonville called and said that he has a hard time walking due to his injuries during service.
A woman who is involved in a family lawsuit called and told a terrible story involving her Grandma and a local Walmart. Apparently someone was illegally parked which forced Grandma to park in a regular spot. Long story short, Grandma fell and eventually died due to complications from her fall.
Lenzi has learned her lesson, the hard way.... the radio way.
