We were on the air talking about automated phone answering systems. I (Jeff) was wondering which credit card company was advertising the fact that they have real people answering customer service calls. We found out it was Discover.

This conversation led us to asking "what is your PHONE BEEF".

By phone beef we mean, what is your phone pet peeve?

Tim can't stand it when an automated service asks his name and then plays a sound effect of typing as if the computer were actually typing it into another computer.

A few other phone beefs we heard this morning include:

- Getting in fights with computers that don't understand your responses.
- People who constantly interrupt you to get a point across.
- the foriegn folks who read a scripts.
