Ariana Grande will not appear in the upcoming season of American Horror Story, but the possibility of joining the franchise later remains open.
During a recent discussion about the series, creator Ryan Murphy explained that Grande had initially agreed to take on a small role. Production dates later shifted, creating a conflict with her Eternal Sunshine tour schedule. The change made it impossible for her to participate in the season as planned.
Murphy made clear that the decision came down to timing rather than any creative disagreement. He also indicated that he would still like to work with Grande on American Horror Story if their schedules line up for a future season.
Grande and Murphy have worked together before. She appeared in the first season of Scream Queens as Chanel #2, part of the dark comedy’s central group of characters.
For now, Grande’s return to Murphy’s television universe remains on hold, with future involvement depending largely on availability.
